Our Peer Mentor programme encourages the Nigerian diaspora community to become Peer Mentors to unemployed young people in Nigeria finding difficulty in securing employment, as a result of nepotism, tribalism and stereotypes in Nigeria.

Their first-hand experience helps them reach young people who are in most need of support and mentoring, as they know what life feels like in the face of barriers and stereotypes.

"We believe everybody is capable of changing his or her own lives with a little support from someone who has been there."

Our peer mentors come from a range of backgrounds including long-term unemployment, difficulties settling in the UK and those born in the UK wanting to know more about their country of origin and those wishing to meet fellow Nigerian’s like them in the UK.
